A woman of VIGOR!

Another excellent study with my girls!
We dove right into our discussion on this month's attribute of the Proverbs 31 woman and did not take a breath until the last "Amen" was spoken in our closing prayer time.
It was lively, interesting, convicting, and uplifting, and after each person spoke, someone from the group shared a word of encouragement and praise - just for her. I LOVE when they do that for each other!
We are already eager to begin the next study!

I pray you will be encouraged by this lesson.

The Proverbs 31 monthly assignment:
- listen to the entire sermon and then listen (again) to the specific point we are studying
- record the areas in which you already see success - and - where  you need to grow and mature

The first character quality we studied - VIRTUE.

This month's character quality - VIGOR.

What a Woman of Vigor looks like:

❃ She is a worker, a busy bee
❃ She has a zest for life, and her satisfaction in her work is a catalyst for the zest
❃ She has an irrepressible desire to bless her family
❃ She is the opposite of the sluggard
Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates. v. 31
❃ She is up early, preparing for the day
She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household
and portions for her maidens. v. 15

❃ She is not idle
❃ Because she is purposefully busy, she can protect herself from sin because there is little/no time for idleness, gossip, meddling in the business of others, complaining or whining
❃ She cares for the home
❃ She prepares everyone for their day
She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. v. 27
❃ She plans ahead for the needs of her family
She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet. v. 21
❃ She has vision
❃ She is orderly and disciplined
❃ She is thoughtful
❃ She is not overwhelmed by thoughts of the future
❃ She can laugh at the future because she is prepared, and she is prepared because she planned
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. v. 25
❃ God is a worker, so she is a worker!
❃ Her work glorifies God
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. v. 30
❃ Her work blesses others, especially her family
❃ She pours herself into others (she is a faucet - not a sink!)
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” v. 28, 29

An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels.
The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands.
She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens.
She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.
She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night.
She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant.
Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
