My Favorite THANKSGIVING Family Tradition.

This is my favorite day of November - Thanksgiving Eve.
family night
engaging in a fun activity we can all enjoy
 eating dinner together
And the best part of the night ...
recording on paper why we appreciate/enjoy/love each other - and praying - by candlelight.

The entries are thoughtful, sweet, and fun, and each one reflects the heart, mind, and maturity of the writer. After we list the qualities we appreciate about each member of the family, Dennis and the older boys read all of the entries out loud. We laugh, respond, and enjoy the thoughts everyone offered, and then each of us shares our own personal list of the things for which we are thankful.

It is such a joy to see the change in the things the older boys write. What began as "Lego's" and "Nerf guns" when they were little has morphed into phrases like "the joy of family," "the wisdom and guidance of my father," and "the freedom to read the Bible and worship God." Thank You, Lord!

I have no idea what God has planned for our family in the years to come, but I pray we will be blessed with many more Thanksgiving Eve's - TOGETHER. ❤

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body.
And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Colossians 3:15-17
