Joy is not the absence of suffering
but the presence of God.
- Elisabeth Elliot
There is no shortage of pain and suffering in the lives of those around us.
Every few days we receive news of a trial or tragedy, and there are no words that can erase the pain, change the circumstances, or stop the sorrow.
children living in hospitals
teens battling depression
dying loved ones
physical pain and poor health
single mothers struggling to care for their precious children
families working hard to pay the bills
depression, anxiety, and fear
BUT GOD ...
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Thank You, Lord, for the beauty and truth of this verse!
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
