I LOVE them!

I dreamt of being a mom since the time I was a little girl.
17 years have passed since I held my firstborn son in my arms, and I am continually amazed by the feeling of love the Lord pours into my heart for each one of my children.
Caring for babies and toddlers is natural and easy for me, and I love it.
During that season of motherhood, when everyone was little and totally dependent on me, I sometimes wondered what life would be like when they were independent and grown.
And now, I know. It is WONDERFUL!

I think my favorite thing about being a mom to teens is that I am no longer just their mother,
but their friend.
We talk, we laugh, they make fun of my iTunes playlist, we watch good movies and discuss them, we debate theological issues, we argue, we disagree, we forgive, they share their struggles and their fears, we talk about the future ...
and they hug me or kiss me on the cheek and tell me they love me - every single day.

As their friend and sister in Christ, I look forward to years of conversations and interaction as they mature and grow and become husbands and fathers, serving the Lord wherever He calls them.
As their mother, I pray they will seek the Lord first, all the days of their lives, and walk in faithful obedience as they serve Him and love others.

I love you, Micah, Luke, and Caleb. ❤
You bring me joy and I will forever praise the Lord for three such amazing gifts.
