Happy Birthday, Micah!

Micah Steven,

Seventeen years ago the Lord brought you into our lives, and it was one of the greatest gifts we could have asked for, and received.
You have always been a sweet, fun, affectionate son and you have brought us much joy.
You are loquacious, entertaining, thoughtful, a deep thinker, loyal to your family and your friends, eager to please, quick to forgive, encouraging, and tender-hearted.
As the first born, you take your role of leadership in the home seriously and step up whenever you are needed, even when you would rather do something else. You serve, support, and challenge your siblings, and they respect you.
You are a wonderful son, Micah.
We are proud of how hard you work, how much you push yourself when things are difficult, and how willing you are to tackle hard things even though you must sacrifice to do so. The effort you put in now will reap great dividends when you are a man. A strong work ethic only increases when put into practice over time.
We love you, and we pray the Lord will continue to shape you into the man He wants you to be and accomplish the plans He has for you ... for His glory and for your good.
Happy Birthday, Micah.
I love you,
Mom

Does not wisdom call?
Does not understanding raise her voice?
Hear, for I will speak noble things,
  and from my lips will come what is right ...
All the words of my mouth are righteous;
  there is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
Take my instruction instead of silver,
  and knowledge rather than choice gold,
  for wisdom is better than jewels,
  and all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
  and I find knowledge and discretion.
I have counsel and sound wisdom;
I have insight; I have strength.
I love those who love me,
  and those who seek me diligently find me.
And now, O sons, listen to me:
  blessed are those who keep my ways.
Hear instruction and be wise,
  and do not neglect it.
Blessed is the man who listens to me,
  watching daily at my gates,
  waiting at the posts of my doors.
For whoever finds me finds life
  and obtains favor from the Lord,
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul;
  all those who hate me love death.
