We are His - forever!

Saturday morning I sat in my car waiting to join one of my girls for her Bridal Shower.
I had arrived a little early, so I turned up the music and leaned back in my seat to enjoy the few minutes of solitude.
Just as I relaxed, the song "Jesus Loves Me" by Chris Tomlin began to float through the car.
I have heard the song repeatedly, but this time I did not sing - I just listened.
When the refrain started, it was as if I was hearing the words for the first time.

I couldn't run, couldn't run from His presence
I couldn't run, couldn't run from His arms

Jesus, He loves me, He loves me, He is for me
Jesus, how can it be, He loves me, He is for me

Simple lyrics.
Profound truth.

I cannot run away from the Lord.
I can sin.
I can neglect Him.
I can ignore Him.
But if I am truly His child, saved by grace, then I belong to a God who will never leave me or forsake me.
And if He will never leave me, it does not matter how many times I fail and fall or try to go my own way ... He is ALWAYS there ... patiently waiting for me to stop fighting ... and fully surrender ... to the One who loves me most.

Jesus loves me.
This I KNOW.
For the Bible tells me so.
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so!

We cannot run from the presence of the Lord.
Once we are His, we belong to Him - FOREVER!

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one. John 10:27-30

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39
