is what we look like to the Lord.
Straining and pulling huge, heavy loads, that, though manageable, were not meant for us to bear. We keep piling on the bags, making the load heavier and more exhausting, burying ourselves under hundreds of pounds of burdens that need not be strapped to our backs. We keep trudging along, farther and farther, until we finally collapse under the weight and cry out to God, wondering where He is, and why He allows the weight of the world to sit on our backs.
Where is God?!?
He is right where He has ALWAYS been.
Waiting patiently, with open arms as He calls to us,
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11
is what the Lord wants to provide for us.
The same animal.
Created by the same God.
Able to carry the same heavy load.
Without a yoke.
Without a burden.
And completely, perfectly, wholly,
Come to ME, Jesus says.
Take MY yoke.
Learn from ME.
It is not a suggestion. It is a command.
"Come to Me, all who are weary ..."
Will you obey?
Will you walk to the Master? Lay your burdens at His feet? Trust Him to carry your load? Listen to Him? Learn from Him? He is a gentle Master, a humble Master. And His promises are true. They are always true.
You WILL find rest for your weary soul.
You need only COME.
